Wine Ethos
At Le Mistral we are passionate about wine. We would like to share tha passion with you, and this is why we offer most of our wines by the glass (250ml, 175ml or 125ml for dessert and sparkling wines). To do this we have invested in a ‘Verre du Vin’ wine and champagne preservation system, to ensure that every glass poured is in perfect condition.
It has been a tough job choosing the wines, with many late nights of tasting involved, but we have found some absolute gems. Many of our French wines are made by young ‘new world’ trained wine makers giving some stunning and surprising results – forget the notion that French means poor value for money – we’ve got rid of those! Talking of value for money, we’ve tried to give you a huge selection of wines, and of course some of them are not cheap, but as we sell mostly wine (and quite a lot of it!) we concentrate on quality wines at value for money prices. We hope you agree!
Our House Wine - Domaine de Lauroux

I’m not sure whether it was luck or fate, but when I came across Domaine de Lauroux Vineyard up a single track lane, almost an hours drive from the nearest decent supermarket. I realised that I had found a match made in heaven. I was in deepest Gascony (about 2 hours drive south of Bergerac, and 2 hours North East of Spain) looking for a stylish and individual House Wine, and I was lost.
Domaine de Lauroux is owned and run by Nick and Karen Kitchener, an English couple, who some years ago gave up the high-life in Britain, to follow their passion for wine making in the south of France. Lauroux wines are hand-made, with pride, and passion. Not to be pretentious, but good value for money everyday drinking wine. Nick will tell you his wine making style is so hands on, that his fingerprints are on every bottle!
You can choose from Red, White or Rosé. We all love it, and I’m sure you will too.
